Got the italian sandwich and kid got the burger. Kid said burger was good. I should have listen to other people's recommendations and got the local fish sandwich instead. Italian sandwich on sour dough was dry, but edible. Can't top the atmosphere. Super cool town w/ nice views of the coast and cool peeps everywhere. Will definitely give another try again for sometime different.

WOW FACTOR? No. The Market is not a market but a sandwich shop, albeit a very good sandwich shop with good service. It has no ambience at all, which was disappointing. HAVE AGAIN: Really delicious clam chowder. Very good and large hummus/avocado sandwich. NOT HAVE AGAIN: The bread that came with the chowder was too plain and I chose not to eat much of it.

Love places like this!!! Hole in the wall deli that just makes amazing sandwiches. Service was great, quick and informative. Sandwiches to die for. Not too expensive either, based on taste, could charge double if they wanted. LOVED IT!

I love having this place in town :) If you're new to town I recommend the hot smoked chicken with Swiss (plus the Russian sauce). The service is always friendly, and I've been a customer since 2002!

We wanted something relatively quick and casual and this was perfect as we also love sandwiches. We went to Princess Seafood the other day and wasn't too impressed so we order what we ordered there - Grilled Real Crab & Cheddar Sandwich and Local Rockfish Sandwich. We really enjoyed both. There was a generous amount of protein and the sauces were good. They were also both warm sandwiches, which was nice for a chilly day. Overall, we enjoyed the sandwiches.

We are newly relocated to Sonoma County and are living in Sea Ranch and took a quick day trip to Mendocino. Late afternoon stomach grumbles had us looking for a fast casual late afternoon sammie and we found ourselves looking for this small home converted into a deli serving hot and cold Sammie's and salads. We got the classic Italian on Dutch crunch ($12) and the hot pastrami Ruben ($12) also on Dutch crunch and both sandwiches hit the spot. Two diet cokes and a seat behind the deli at a picnic table and we were set and quite full for less than $30 for the two of us. Decent pastrami Ruben and my wife liked the Classic Italian and couldn't finish it. Good place. Worth a visit.

I was craving a sandwich during a weekend trip to Mendocino and I'm really glad I found Mendocino Market. Staff was very friendly and food was delicious. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken & Cheddar and really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

[[4.5 STARS OUT OF 5]] I'm writing this review specifically because I feel like this place is underrated and deserves more hype -- it was a last-minute, unplanned stop to finish off our Mendo trip that significantly exceeded expectations based on the unassuming storefront and reviews. After wandering around the area and browsing a couple of criminally overpriced eateries (ahem, Gnar Bar), we settled on Mendo Market through a process of elimination, not really expecting too much but ended up really loving our meal. It was a really nice lunch to finish off our trip and left us feeling fully satiated for the long drive back home. I would highly recommend the rockfish sandwich on rye (get both tartar sauce and pesto) and the seafood stew. We also got the grilled crab and cheese which my boyfriend felt was a bit dry but otherwise also tasty. We both thought that these were easily the best fish sandwiches that we've ever had, and they both paired wonderfully with the hearty, tomato-based seafood stew that left our bellies warm and satiated.
